Web Application Usability Tidbits

Update March 28, 2019 – The Upload Widget has served well over the years, so we have upgraded it to a modern Form Builder. You can customize and embed a form to receive files to your ExaVault account directly on your website.
We’ve just released our file upload widget, which lets you integrate ExaVault file uploads straight into your app.
With this new capability, you can now paste some HTML into your site to place an uploader widget. These new widgets come with tons of developer-centric options, like callback support, choosing what file types the uploader will accept, and more! To get started, please visit our developer documentation section.
Now that you have your Receive Folder set up, do you want to be notified when someone uploads a file? Easy – we can do that. Just go to the notifications section in the file manager and use the “Create Notification” button at the top. You’ll always be up to date.
You can also specify what email addresses you would like to notify, to make sure that the people who need to be in-the-know are kept that way.
Let’s say you have a ton of images or files in a folder that you don’t need to access all the time, but you would like them to take up less of your ExaVault usage space. Maybe it’s time to think about slimming down those files.
To do this click the action menu button on the right and select “Compress”. This will make a zip archive of your files that will be smaller than the originals*! You can also select the files or folders you want and a “Compress” button will appear at the top.
*Actual file size reduction may vary depending on the file type. Consult your doctor to see if you are healthy enough for compression. Side effects of compression may include lossless lung, in-place deflation, and WinZip.
