Web Application Usability Tidbits
Showcasing a few of the minor UI updates that provide a better experience in the web application. Read More
Time flies when we’re hard at work bringing you some nifty new features. An often requested feature is the ability to link to files hosted on ExaVault directly.
Now you can set up any folder on your account for Direct Link access, which will allow you to access any file within that folder via a Direct Link over the web. For example, this allows you to link to images hosted on your ExaVault account directly from your own personal website!
To set up a folder’s contents for Direct Link access, choose the Direct Link Settings option from the drop-down menu on the right for the selected folder. A confirmation modal will pop up and give you a link for the folder setup for direct access. Then, append your file name to this path to construct the link to your file.
You also have the option to hide the listing of the folder contents when someone goes to your file via the direct link. Simply toggle the option off under the URL before you finish setting up the direct link.
Now you can include the link and embed the URL image directly on your webpage.
Return to the direct link settings for the folder at any time to turn off the direct link. This instantly updates access so people going to the web address will no longer see items in the folder.
We’ve got more in the pipeline over here at ExaVault. We will continue to improve upon both our web and mobile apps, as well as add additional improvements to Direct Links.
If you have any thoughts on how we can make your experience better, please let us know at support@exavault.com. Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate the input. We know that without people like you, we wouldn’t be here!
